Born a mixture of indigenous South American and Chinese in the Andes mountain range Yuri left his homeland of Peru for America.
Went on to be educated at the “FAME” High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and The School of Visual Arts. Honing his skills as a master illustrator and comic artist He worked in freelance for 10 years on a multitude of commercial projects.
In 2004 Yuri moved to Asia and was hired by ART ASYLUM Hong Kong. Here he contributed his great talent on designs for MINIMATES, LORD OF THE RINGS, MARVEL COMICS, STAR TREK, BATMAN, CLIVE BARKERS JUMP TRIBE and more.
In 2005 Yuri joined forces with DIG DEEP ENTERTAINMENT as the Art Director. dedicated himself to Dig Deep’s new intellectual properties for film, television and elite products. Worked on storyboarding and production design for the upcoming UK/HK action film A NEW BEGINNING as well as a great many super limited Asia exclusive Marvel Comics statue lines!
Yuri Timg is a dedicated Martial Artist and studies Wing Chun and Arnis religiously alongside with his commercial art achievements.
Started training Wing Chun in NYC under Joseph Musse Jr. under the tree lineage of Duncan Leung. Moved to Hong Kong specifically to train in wing chun more intensely.
In HK, under Grand Master Duncan Leung’s recommendation, started his intense training with his good friend sifu Guy Lai for 4 years, 3 times a week 5-6 hours each day.
Moved to the Philippines hoping to continue my training, share his knowledge and spread Wing Chun in this country.
Now based in the Philippines he also helped jumpstart Suspended Animation Media as an art studio then later left to start his own specialize studio White Canvas.
White Canvas focuses on pre-production and conceptual art. An arsenal of creativity and a sanctuary for productive artists, White Canvas provides the best of what it can offer ranging from Character designs for movies, 2-d and 3-d animation productions, Concept Art designs, Story Boards, and much more.
