We have good news for all Wing Chun afficionados out there. We know how hard it is to find a quality Wing Chun school and equally hard as well to find time to devote for training because of conflicting schedules at work, studies and other activities.

That’s why we are offering three (3) training packages for you to choose from depending on your availability and your budget.

We have the EXTREME package for only 3,600 per month. With this package, you may attend all classes of the week; That’s Mondays through Thursdays 8:30pm to 10:30pm and Saturdays 4:30pm to 8:30pm. That is Extreme Wing Chun training 5 days of the week or 20 days of training per month. Not only will you learn the art of Wing Chun, you’ll also learn to apply it in real situations plus you’ll get conditioning and power training to boot. But if you take this package, you are required to attend a minimum of three (3) sessions per week. This EXTREME package is perfect for those who have the time and are truly dedicated to the art.

For those of you with busy schedules, you may avail of the MODERATE package, That is two (2) Wing Chun sessions per week or 8 sessions per month for only 3,000 Php per month. You may choose two (2) days from the schedule and as with all our packages, you’ll also get conditioning and power training plus Wing Chun applications.

Last but not the least is the STARTER package. Ideal for those who just want to see if Wing Chun is the art for them. This is also great for students who have a hectic schedule at school. It’s 2,000 Php for 1 session per week or 4 sessions per month. This is a great way to get started in learning the art of Wing Chun at your own pace. If you feel that you want to quicken the pace of your Wing Chun study, then you can easily upgrade to our MODERATE or EXTREME packages.

All the stuff that you will learn is the same for all packages, the only difference* is the pace. So what are you waiting for, call us now or send us an email and inquire on how to avail of our Wing Chun training packages.

Footwork is very essential in Wing Chun in order to close in on the opponent, establish control of his centerline moving away from his line of attack. But I have to admit, I’m having difficulties with the footwork drills as of the moment. My movements seem clumsy and lacks finese as compared to what my instructor and sihings were doing. I was researching on Wing Chun theory when I came across this helpful article regarding Wing Chun footwork.

I will be summarizing the points presented here about Wing Chun footwork. I’m not sure what lineage the author of this article is but I’ll just use the terminology he used.

Triangle Stepping

Imagine a triangle drawn on the ground and your opponent is inside it. He stands near the base of the triangle or in the middle of it and the tip of the triangle is pointing at you. If your enemy attacks or moves forward, you step right down the angle of the triangle (either left or right thus moving safely away from the opponent’s line of attack). The leg you use depends on the direction you intend to go. If you wish to go left, then you use the left leg, if right, then you use the right leg to step out.

Now here comes the next part, right after stepping out, you IMMEDIATELY cross back your back leg and step towards the opponent’s center to allow you to attack him from an angle and minimizing his chance of launching a counter-attack against you. These two-step action should be executed right after the other, almost simultaenously.

With practice, you will be able to do this as soon as you see an incoming attack.

Also according to the article, every Wing Chun footwork can be found in the first section of the Wooden Dummy Form (Mook Yan Jyong).

Here are the other principles of footwork from the article:

“Ding Ma“ forward stance – any application of hand/arm power while using your Yee Chee Kim Yeung Ma to root.

“Cho Ma“ shifting/turning stance – redirecting force and/or simultaneously using your “Yiu Ma”, or waist power, to add power to your striking.

“Toh Ma“ chasing stance – stepping to gain position.

“Jeet Ma“ intercepting stance – here’s your triangle stepping applied on the wooden dummy that uses the Huen Bo movements from Biu Tze to simultaneously sidestep your opponent and to gain superior position.

“Toi Ma“ dissipating stance – yielding under pressure by circling your leg back and simultaneously shifting your weight to redirect a trap or to preserve your balance.

Toh Ma is advancing in small movements with the lead leg forward and sliding yourself forward as you pick up the rear leg. This is also called “chasing stance” as it is used to follow your opponents centerline, it’s quite similar to a fencing shuffle.

The Biu Ma is the “whole power body move” and it is used to bridge the gap and add power to your attack by moving in with your body weight. It’s use is quite similar with the Toh Ma but here you sink on the back of the leg and you generate power by propelling or shooting yourself forward using the back of the leg. Not only will it get you to your destination faster but it will increase your attack power.
